"Damping Malam"<<<< Night Guardian
Amy Mastura at first was thought as the innocent |
The process of accepting the guardian |
Being posses |
Yea, this is a ghost story. Malaysian Ghost story. Very scary. Its all about u make a contract with The Guardian( Djin Or Demon) to do something for you. For Ku Lira ( Amy Mastura ), she did this because her husband always left her being alone. And she's lonely . This is also to make sure her husband not looking for other woman. She did the contract with The Guardian. If she cant renew the contract she made, she has to face the consequences where one of her family member need to die.( Macam Ngambik lesen keta indah). And her daughter is the victim. And she dont want this to happen btw. And fyi, his daughter was submitted to boarding school and there all the incident start to happen. |
What do you think? Scary Ha??? |
And the story goes on where his husband finally notice after believing that Ummi Siah was the causes to all of this. Ummi Siah were thrown away from their home. FYI, Ummi Siah is the aunty to this Ku Lira. She is responsible to take care of this family.
She died. ='( |
As the ending, Aiza ( Ku Lira daugther ) finally died because of the contract that haven't been renew since the Shaman ( The one as the medium between demon or Djin to human) died and of course could not renew the contract for her.
What I can conclude is never make any deal with demon or djin. It could bring harm to you. Belive in your GOD. GOD is the most powerful and most merciful.

Gulliver's Travels (2010 film)
Hi again. Today is Friday and it is my favourite day of the week. Since this is the last day of lecture for the whole week, so I can start to plan all my activities starting from this day. Stop talking bout me, Today I gonna write some about movie called Gulliver's Travels. Its a great movie though.
Official Poster |
Up here is the official poster of the movie. Gulliver's Travels is a fantasy comedy film directed by Rob Letterman and loosely based on the 18th-century. And Jack Black is the main actor. I love to watch any movie where he is the actor. One of them is "School Of Rocks".
School Of Rock Poster |
One that is common about him is he loves rock!!! Rock Star RulE!!!! hehehe.
He is rocking in "Teenacious D" to |
One point that I like about this Gulliver's movie is its not the same with my mum used to read when I am a little child. And its completely different from the storybook of course. Its been modified especially by the era the movie in. Its in our era or should I say 2010. It is because we can see how their attire look like, I Phone, and even they mention once in the movie about the year they were in.
Man from past to now.. |
The most interesting part for me in this movie is the part where Gulliver's change the whole society of the small people from very English era to modern era. He introduces everything that happen to his world to them. For example current fashion and movie to. Its just that he told them he is the hero of every movie where this people thinks its actually happen. LOL!!!!
He told them that he travelling to other planet just like in Avatar's movie. It just that he change the name to Gavatar = Gulliver + Avatar. hahaha.. He also told them that he is the skywalker as in the Starwar's movie. And he is Jack in Titanic to.
He is the Skywalker...Hahahahhaha |
Titanic cutscenes |
Yea, he lied to all the Liliput's society. But at last he confess to them. At first they cant accept that Gulliver cheat them. But at last Gulliver proof to them that he cheats because of some reasons and they finally accept it.
I also found that the scene where this Liliput playing with the Iphone funny. They slide the Iphone. I mean a giant Iphone for the Liliput Society. And they found its so amusing. Me also find that Iphone is great btw.hhehhe
Iphone 4 |
Over all, this movie is so hilarious. I laugh out loud while watching this with my friend. And for the second time with my family. Hehehe. Yea, its two times of watching the same movie. Hahaha.I recommend for those who haven't watch you better watch this. Bye for now.

Turn Taking.( Taken From buzzle.com )
Turn Taking
In conversation, the roles of speaker and listener change constantly. The person who speaks first becomes a listener as soon as the person addressed takes his or her turn in the conversation by beginning to speak.
Conversations need to be organized therefore there are rules or principles for establishing who talks and then who talks next. This process is called turn taking.
The study of turn taking includes,
1.Turn constructional component
2. turn allocational component or turn taking rules
3. implicit and explicit markers.
Sacks suggested some guiding principles for the organization of turn taking in conversation. He observed that the central principle that speakers follow in taking turns is to avoid gaps and overlap in conversation.
Turn constructional component
The Turn constructional component describes out of which turns are fashioned. These basic units are called turn constructional units or TCUs. These units are grammatically, pragmatically, semantically, intonationally correct units. In a particular context they accomplish recognizable social actions TCU is a stretch on speech at the end of which another person could not start speaking.
Turn allocational component /Turn taking rules
The completion of a TCU results in a transition relevance place or TRP. At that point it is possible for another speaker to start speaking.
The rules are-
1. If the current speaker selects another speaker, that speaker must speak next.
2. If the current speaker does not select another speaker, someone may self-select as next speaker.
3. If nobody self selects, the current speaker may continue.
Sacks, Schegloffm, and Jefferson called it local management system.
Speakers themselves may signal their willingness to give up the floor in favor of another speaker (who can be nominated by current speaker only) They can do this by directing their gaze towards the next speaker and by employing characteristics gesturing patterns synchronizing with the final words. They may alter speech, speak more softly, lengthen the last syllable or use stereotypical discourse markers e.g. you know or sort of things etc. The current speaker indicates through certain markers that another person can take over. The other person may read the signals from the flow of speech, which suggest an opening is possible.
These signals or markers are of two types.
1.Implicit markers
2.Explicit markers.
Implicit markers: These are paralinguistic features such as body language and prosodic features.
e.g. falling tone and rising tone.
Explicit markers: These are linguistic features which invite a response - a)clauses-A super ordinate clause allows turn taking. A subordinate clause does not allow turn taking b)suggestion - A speaker asks for suggestion. e.g. Shall we go to picnic? c) Request - A speaker request the other person. e.g. Could you please open the door?
d) Question-A speaker asks question. e.g. What do you think?
Organization of conversation
A conversation can be viewed as a series of speech acts greetings, Inquiries, invitations requests refusals, accusations, denials, promises, and farewells. To accomplish the work of these speech acts some organization is essential.
A coherent conversation proceeds in an orderly way by a series of interaction moves with each participant having a turn to speak. However in emotional conversation, one speaker may interrupt another, this interruption is called turn stealing.
The right to speak in interaction is referred as ‘the floor’. Rules of turn taking tells us how to ‘get the floor’, to ‘hold the floor’, and to ‘give up the floor’. Getting on the floor holding the floor and giving up the floor, involves a whole series of signals some of which can be rather subtle. The most common signal that someone is ready to give up the floor is pausing. Generally the person who is speaking has the most rights over the floor. They usually can hold the floor for as long as they want, can select who will speak next and can constrain the next turn by controlling the topic.
Speakers who want to keep the turn or control the turn employ following strategies
1. They don’t pause at the end of the sentences
2. They make their sentences run on by using connectors like and, then, but so,etc .
3. They place their pauses at points where the message is clearly incomplete.

My First Presentation -Mind Your Language-
Mind Your Language |
Mind Your Language is a British comedy television series, that premiered on in late 1977. Produced by LWT and directed by Stuart Allen, it is set in a school for adult students in London, focusing on the English as the foreign language class taught by Mr. Jeremy Brown, who had to deal with foreigners. Three series were made by LWT between 1977–79, and the show was briefly revived in 1986 with some of the original cast.
This hilarious show were shown to us by Mr Camillus during our class recently. And this is the first time I ever watched this show. Its a great show and of course side-splitting. I just keep on laughing as I watched this show.
ROFL-rolling on floor laughing |
After watching, we were asked to do some assessment on this video and share it for the whole classes. I did the grammatical error part. I choose Maximillian Andrea Archimedes Papandrious as my sample. He did some grammatical error and some having some pronunciation problems. In instant, he says sheep instead of ship.
Maximillian Andrea Archimedes Papandrious |
During my presentation I choose to write on whiteboard for all the mistakes he made. I did write everything that I want to write. But, in the process of delivering my presentation, I having this difficulties which I tend to forget everything whenever I get nervous. I will talk carelessly and without minding my grammar mistake. My vocabulary will gone wild as I delivering my speech and sometime using "Manglish".
Manglish |
I hope in my next presentation I can improve my presentation skill and get uses to crowd. I hope Mr Camillus can help me with that as I always listen to how he talks and pronoun word. He is such a great speaker. I also hopes that I can improve my vocabulary and speak fluently to
Speak good English!!!!! |
That is all I can write for now. I will write more in the future. =D. Bye!!!!
